Dr. Ronald Kirschner has a broad background in healthcare, start-ups and private equity. He is the co-founder and President of Catalyzing Collaboration and practiced medicine for 23 years and anesthesia for 17 of those years. While practicing medicine, he started three companies in the healthcare field dealing with Nutrition, Managed Care, and Utilization Review. He has been a consultant on healthcare issues to the State government and on funding and market strategies to both entrepreneurs and early stage companies. He was the VP of Technology Development for CDIB Biotech, Inc., a Midwest Biotechnology Venture Fund where his roles was to assist in the discovery and funding of early stage biotechnology in the Midwest and Canada.

Vastly flexible with the capability to apply skills in the hematology and oncology arena, Douglas’ solid experience allows him to excel in many facets of program development including: market research, conceptualization, recruitment, product development, and instructional writing. His substantial scientific background coupled with entrepreneurial/business experience offers the aptitude to efficiently serve as a medium between medical and business sectors.

Identifying market needs, creating offerings with marketplace value, building business models to capture that value, and digging moats to sustain competitive advantage for the offering and business. Brian analyzes and provides recommendations on investment opportunities for the Heartland Angels Private Equity Group and has worked extensively with the Law Firms of Seyfarth Shaw, Fitch Even Tabin & Flannery and Banner & Witcoff, Ltd.
